Thank you for visiting our website. As you click through the pages, you will gather some great information about who we are as a church body. However, what you won’t find is a clear description of what our Sunday worship experience is like. The reason for this is that over these past two years our congregation has been undergoing a transition. Up until recently, our worship service was traditional. Today we have a “blended” or “convergent” worship service. It is our aim to honor our traditions but at the same time create a worship atmosphere that is appealing to those who are looking for a more contemporary worship experience. Beyond the Sunday worship experience, you will find that we have a number of community outreaches and social action initiatives. We also hold a weekly bible study that provides small group support. Pease visit us for our 10:00am service and if you let me know you are coming, I will carve out some time afterward if you would like to visit.
Yours because of Jesus,
Thomas Giglio, Pastor
Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings. Our worship style embraces a convergence of historic and contemporary worship beginning at 10am in the sanctuary. “Kid’s Church” runs concurrent with the service in the lower level of our Community House.
Please join us at 10:00am
Non-denominational Bible Study
On Tuesday evenings during the school year, we gather in a more intimate setting to dig into the Scriptures. This interactive study draws people from well beyond our church members, with folks coming from a variety of places and backgrounds. We hold the study in the Brookside House of the Purnell School (the Purnell School is located at 51 Pottersville Road, just opposite the church). Come join us on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30pm, we would love to have you join us, even if its just to check things out.
Community House Outreach
Our Community House, located directly across the street from the church and on the beautiful Black River, provides an incredible place for getting people together. We are passionate about creating spaces to make connections and building relationships, and the Community House is proving to be the perfect venue. Complete with a 1500sq.ft. great room, lighted stage, kitchen, sound system and air conditioning, it is the host facility of our local outreach thrust. Visit us Saturday evenings at 7:30 for any of the following events; Acoustic Cafe (1st. Sat.), Teen Connection (2nd. Sat.) and Swing Dance (3rd. Sat.). We also host two AA meetings, every Wednesday and Friday evening. Check out the web pages above for more information on each of these programs or check with the church office to confirm an event, as schedules do change.
What We Believe
As part of the Reformed Church in America, we believe in a triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who is the initiator and creator of all things. We hold tightly to the authority of the Scriptures, salvation by grace alone in Christ’s work upon the Cross and the ongoing presence and power of the Holy Spirit who resides in the believer. We echo the Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 13: 13; “Three things will last forever – faith, hope and love – and the greatest of these is love” and we endeavor in all things to “Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before our God” (Micah 6:8).
Passionate about encountering God’s presence in Worship
Intentional building relationships beyond the walls of our faith community
Committed to the study of scripture and to prayer
Determined to minister to the needs of the less fortunate, both locally and globally, in Jesus’ name.
