Dear Friend,

Thank you for visiting our website. As you click through the pages, you will gather some great information about who we are as a church. I am writing this opening letter so that you can best understand who we are and who we are becoming.

The expression of Christian Faith within the context of post-modernism is in the midst of transition. Just 50 years ago the bedrock of societal norms, it’s influence upon today’s culture is much less distinguishable.  Numerous denomination churches are in crises with attendance at an all-time low, trending toward further decline.  1,000 churches close every year in America.  And yet juxtaposed against this backdrop is a phenomena that is changing the face of Christian worship and Christian witness.  Over this same 50 year period of decline, the non-denominational movement is on the increase, with church services filled with GenXers and Millennials who are passionately engaged in worship and passionately following Jesus.  There are many elements that could be considered when attempting to understand why these younger generations are drawn in this direction, but suffice it to say that it’s not just about the music.  It’s also about a worship experience that is authentic, relevant and joyful.  It’s about an ethos of love and compassion.  It is about a priority on relationships and on communities where people feel they belong.  Pottersville Reformed Church is on a journey of transformation, seeking to be a church body that is authentic, relevant and joyful – a people who are filled with love and compassion – place a where priority is on relationship and on community – and most importantly, where Jesus is the center of it all.  I hope you will consider joining us on this journey.

Beyond the Sunday worship experience, you will find that we have a number of community outreaches and social action initiatives. We also hold a weekly bible study that provides small group support. Pease visit us for our 10:00am service and if you let me know you are coming, I will carve out some time afterward if you would like to visit.

Yours because of Jesus,

Thomas Giglio, Pastor

Community House Outreach

community houseOur Community House, located directly across the street from the church and on the beautiful Black River, provides an incredible place for getting people together.  We are passionate about creating spaces to make connections and building relationships, and the Community House is proving to be the perfect venue.  Complete with a 1500sq.ft. fellowship hall, lighted stage, kitchen, sound system and air conditioning, it is the host facility of our local outreach including our monthly Acoustic Café .  We also host  two AA meetings, every Wednesday and Friday evening.  Check out the web pages above for more information on each of these programs or check with the church office to confirm an event, as schedules do change.

What We Believe

As part of the Reformed Church in America, we believe in a triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who is the initiator and creator of all things.  We hold tightly to the authority of the Scriptures, salvation by grace alone in Christ’s work upon the Cross and the ongoing presence and power of the Holy Spirit who resides in the believer.  We echo the Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 13: 13; “Three things will last forever – faith, hope and love – and the greatest of these is love”.  We endeavor in all things to “Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before our God” (Micah 6:8).
