Pottersville Preschool takes a progressive approach to teaching, based on traditional techniques and values, to prepare your child for the future. With a low student/teacher ratio, and a caring, hands-on approach, we spend more quality time helping to develop your child’s curiosity for the world. Children enrolled at Potterville Preschool engage in a rich curriculum focusing on child-centered discovery techniques and strategies that promote self-confidence, curiosity and creativity. Kindergarten readiness and socialization are the primary goals of the program. Pre-math and language arts are incorporated into the weekly themes. We also provide an opportunity for the children to partake in “Weekly Enrichment Specials” such as Spanish, Music, Computers and Science.
Each day consists of a “Morning Welcome,” where all children and faculty gather for songs and stories to greet the day; “Center Time,” where the children work in groups on planned activities, language arts and pre-math concepts; “Snack& Lunch Times,” in which the children enjoy a healthful snack/lunch brought from home, “Circle Time,” where the children enjoy physical activities such as music and dance; “Outdoor Play and Exploration,” during which the children spend lots of time to connect with the outdoors both on the playground and on closely supervised exploration outings; “Story Time,” which includes creative stories that are shared with the children to nurture a love of the written word; and, “ Discovery Time” where the children may choose from a variety of options which may include exploration, drawing or painting, and special art activities.
The Pottersville Preschool is a mission of the Pottersville Reformed Church, and is governed by a team of dedicated board members and the director of the school. Pottersville Preschool is a faith-based preschool which provides the children with a fundamental understanding that God loves them and cares for them. Staff is encouraged to teach the children the practice of saying grace before meals and snacks. They will also share simple, age appropriate stories and songs relating to such holidays as Hanukkah, Christmas, and Easter. We welcome families of all races, ethnicities, religious affiliations and beliefs.

The Pottersville Preschool is now accepting applications for their January session, children ages 2-5 years old.
